A few days ago we prefered a more quiet celebration of St. Patricks day.
De Vestibule is a great place for both animals and their friends. Their organic menu with reasonable prices makes you want to come back again and again and again and.... The dog, this time Dauphintje, got her fair share, even before we had the chance to make an order. The cook came along with a delicious plat-du-jour for dogs, complete with tomato and parsley on the side. After that we were able to make our order.

Then there is another place that we really really will miss, and that is
De Kleine Moghul in Nieuwe Boteringestraat. Great food, according to our India-travellers the best kitchen ever, except of course if you live in London and can choose between all the curries that you would ever want. At the Moghul you can get great Indian food for reasonable prices, which is something that I still have to experience in Norway... We anyway bring about a kilo of curry with us to make our own Moghul-dish.

And the herring will be truly missed. They don't know how to prepare this in Norway except if you live at the harbour in Egersund and can get some of the herring being shipped to the Netherlands. I have been told that there are special herring-preparers from NL in Norway to make sure the herring will be allright for the Dutch consumption. Still, the 'haringkar' as you see it under here is uniquely Dutch, and I will never find something this 'fishy' ever in my own country.
